1-6-4-5
The '50s progression (also known as the "Heart and Soul" chords, the "Stand by Me" changes, the doo-wop progression and the "Ice-cream Changes") is a chord progression and turnaround used in Western popular music. The progression (represented in Roman numerals) is: I–vi–IV–V. For example, in C major: C–Am–F–G.
Try some easy rhythms using these chords, and when you know each one by name then try playing them in a different order, so - 1-5-6-4 (or C-G-Am-F in the key of C major). There are thousands of songs that have been written using only these four chords!
TIP: Try to keep your fingers in the same fixed position as you move your hand sideways on the keyboard to play the next chord.
